ABOUT

Growing up on the shores of Lake Superior in northern Minnesota, my family and surroundings instilled in me a profound fascination with nature. As an undergraduate at Loyola University in Chicago, I took advantage of multiple research opportunities in the field of ecology. The excitement of fieldwork, museum collections, and hands-on discovery had me hooked.

Drawing on my love of animals and the belief that human, animal, and ecosystem health are innately intertwined, I began pursuing a research career in disease ecology. I am now a Ph.D. candidate in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at The University of Connecticut, working in collaboration with Columbia University's Center for Infection and Immunity. 

In my free time I can be found running (slowly), drinking wine with my cat EO, or leading intense discussions about ballet, music, or essential subjects of modern societal importance, such as mental health awareness, women's basketball, Harry Potter, and Star Wars.
